The all-new 7 Series Sedan. An unrivaled level of precision and detail. The 750Li provides extra legroom for rear-seat occupants, standard 16-way power front Comfort seats with 4-way lumbar support, and refined interior details. Black Panel LCD Technology When the ignition is off and the doors are closed, the only hint of the advanced technologies and entertainment systems along the smooth, black panel are the raised chrome gauge rings and needles. When the door is opened, the gap at the bottom of the chrome rings fills in graphically, and the dials and other displays begin to become visible. Once the engine is started, the black panel instantly comes to life. Where before the display’s borders were ambiguous, now the screen is clear, displaying onboard information and controls with intensified clarity. At night, the instrument panel displays change color from white to BMW amber. Rear Comfort Seating If it’s the driver’s job to drive, it’s the passenger’s job to relax. To that end, we’ve made the rear seating more comfortable and spacious than ever. The BMW 750Li enjoys a longer wheelbase and a noticeably larger door to make it easier to enter the vehicle. The interior space is the most generous in the luxury sedan class with a redesigned roofline for additional headroom. Along with ample room to stretch, the rear seats in the 750Li model include an optional 12-way massager to soothe back muscles by producing a wave motion from the top of the back to the bottom. At the same time, six rotating massage elements work in the shoulder and lower back areas. Furthermore, Optional Rear Comfort Seats are not only individually adjustable, but are heated and ventilated to provide climate comfort as well. In the end, the ride itself just may be the destination. Interior Design Dramatic wood trim accent pieces add style across the dashboard, doors, center console, and cup holders. The subtle intensity of the trim encases an array of technological conveniences, including programmable memory keys, in-dash CD controls, the Black Panel LCD screen, center console shift lever, and the new iDrive. Nappa leather adorns both doors and the 20-way front comfort seats. Interior design also brings an ambience of well-appointed style with a leather-covered, double-lid storage compartment. Of course, the style isn’t without purpose. In addition to storage, it also acts as a supple armrest for both driver and passenger. Exterior Design Our new sedan is both instantly recognizable and punctuated with new style. We began with the trademarked BMW roof slant and the Hofmeister kink in the rear, long hood in the front and short overhangs throughout the body. We then supplemented the traditional look with a sporty panel along the side, chrome highlights, deep-seated handles on the doors, and an uninterrupted shoulder line for a new, dynamic profile. Additionally, the large, trademarked kidney grilles sit alongside updated BMW quad-headlights. All of these bring a subtle new style to its already dominant stance. The All- New iDrive Sytem All information, entertainment and comfort features are controlled via the iDrive system featuring a larger, 10.25-inch, high-resolution display; more intuitive controls; and four direct-entry buttons for accessing radio, CD, telephone, and navigational features. Furthermore, the integrated Hard Disk Drive offers an ample 12 GB of storage for importing your favorite music from CDs, MP3 players, or USB sticks. Compared with its competitors, the 7 Series iDrive offers superior ergonomics with a high-mounted display and center console controller. All this ensures drivers’ eyes stay on the road, not on the screen or controls. Beyond the standard functions, the iDrive system also accesses BMW Assist services. The BMW Assist Safety Plan-included for four years at no extra costs-offers an arsenal of safety, security, and convenience services. Trained response specialists are available at the touch of a button, ready to provide you with enhanced roadside assistance. The system also includes Bluetooth hands-free calling capabilities with speech recognition. Partnering with Google, 7 Series drivers can save time by sending a destination from the Internet directly to their BMW before beginning a journey. MyInfo allows drivers to upload business listings, street addresses, and phone numbers to the 7 Series for immediate navigational assistance. Drivers can also search Google maps from within the vehicle by subscribing to the optional BMW Assist Convenience Plan. With ''BMW Search'', users can quickly find desired businesses through Google’s powerful search engine. Premium Sound The 7 Series doesn't just play music. It offers an immersive 10-speaker high-fidelity surround system, with a digital 7-channel amplifier, 205 watts of power and a six-disc multimedia changer. The result? Dynamic sound throughout the cabin. When it comes to what passengers listen to through this system, the possibilities are limitless. The optional multimedia adaptor plugs into iPhones, iPods, and other MP3 devices for stereo playback. Skip tracks, access up to five playlists, store music on the 12 GB hard drive, and adjust the volume through the 7 Series' steering wheel controls or iDrive controller. Over 1,300 nationwide AM and FM stations with HD Radio technology, while over 600 stations also include multicasting options, displaying the artist and track names of songs as they play. In addition, the flagship also allows for optional SIRIUS Satellite radio, which offers 60 commercial-free music stations and more than 40 news, sports and entertainment stations. The first year subscription is included. Navigational and Entertainment Server Now, not only does your vehicle store directions to your favorite locations, it can access the soundtrack to the drive. The 7 Series is equipped with a 80GB hard drive, storing an Electronic Owner's Manual, navigation system, saved maps, and entertainment server—capable of uploading your music, photos, and files from the CD and DVD reader or USB port. Seat-integrated Rear Entertainment System The 7 Series includes the option of a dual multimedia, high-resolution entertainment system. The vibration-resistant displays provide both rear passengers with the comfort of their own screen. Twin-Turbocharged 8-Cylinder Engine The all-new 7 Series runs with the unrivaled performance of a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged engine. With an authoritative 400hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, the V-8 engine is indeed state-of-the-art. Lightweight Construction Lithe, nimble, and efficient are words generally reserved for vehicles with far fewer cylinders and far more cramped quarters. But thanks in part to its incredibly lightweight construction, including an aluminum fender, the 750i effortlessly accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 5.1 seconds.1 1. 5.2 seconds for the 750Li Integral Active Steering When turning at lower speeds—up to about 38 mph—the 7 Series rear wheels assist those in the front by turning up to three degrees in the opposite direction of the vehicle’s path, while Active Steering technology simultaneously increases the steering angle of the front wheels. New Front-Suspension Design When we decided to completely redesign the front suspension, it wasn’t just for utility. It was for versatility as well. Customizing each ride to the road, the 7 Series allows you to match the driving mode (COMFORT, NORMAL, SPORT, and SPORT+) to the road conditions to make your trip more pleasurable than ever. In addition, the 7 Series is now outfitted with aluminum axles and steel-sprung suspension. This pairing allows for fine-tunings that yield a more engaging ride with more controlled handling. Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection Optional BMW Night Vision allows drivers to see animals and pedestrians over 900 feet (or 300 meters) ahead—in the dark. Utilizing infrared technology from the vehicle’s built-in, front camera, the 7 Series displays potential road hazards on the navigation system monitor so that drivers might avoid them well before they are visible to the naked eye. In the 7 Series, Night Vision Pedestrian Detection technology distinguishes between animals and humans and alerts the driver accordingly. At a closer range, it identifies their position and the direction in which they are moving. If a pedestrian approaches or crosses the road, thermal imaging technology alerts a 7 Series system to display a symbol in the control panel and, if equipped, on the Head-Up Display. Active Blind Spot Detection Looking forward isn't just a metaphor for our insatiable desire to innovate. It's also quite literal. The available Active Blind Spot Detection system helps eliminate blind spots to help avoid collisions when changing lanes, literally keeping your gaze straight ahead. Using radar sensors at the rear of the vehicle to monitor the traffic behind it, this system alerts drivers if a vehicle is in their blind spot by displaying a light on their side-view mirror housings. And on the chance the driver does not notice the warning and signals to indicate changing lanes, the light on the mirror housing begins to flash and the steering wheel vibrates. Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go The 7 Series Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality now comes with something new—a Front Collision Warning System. With this system, drivers are alerted if they are in danger of running into the back of the vehicle in front of them. First, a symbol appears in the instrument cluster and in the Optional Head-Up Display. Next, if the situation becomes more critical, the symbol starts to flash and a warning sound is heard. When it’s necessary, the brake system also prepares to engage. Even when not using the Active Cruise Control technology, the Front Collision Warning System is still active. Multi-Camera System The 7 Series comes with the option to enhance visibility and safety with several camera systems. The available Rear-View Camera is located by the handle of the trunk and transmits a high-resolution image to iDrive monitor, as well as optimum driving trajectories for parking and the location of obstacles. The Side-View Cameras are located on the fenders at the front of the wheel well and aid the driver in seeing oncoming traffic when approaching intersections. In addition, the optional Head-Up Display helps keep drivers’ eyes forward by projecting warning signals on the windshield. |
