BMW i4 Performance: New Standards for Sustainable Transportation

Experience Uncompromising Driving Dynamics On Every Trip

The 2022 BMW i4 is specially designed for thrill-seekers who want an uncompromising luxury electric vehicle to push the limits of comfort and performance. It offers a lightweight design, high-speed charging, relentless performance, and a feature-rich interior that’s built around the driver. The i4 is available in two different versions: an i4 eDrive40 and an i4 M50 model.

If you want a stylish, sporty, and fully electric luxury car that delivers unique driving dynamics, you may visit Vista BMW Coconut Creek, Coconut Creek, FL, to discover more about the 2022 BMW i4.

Unmatched Performance

The 2022 BMW i4 eDrive40 comes equipped with a single motor driving the rear axle. This motor makes 335 horsepower, 317 lb-ft of torque, and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. However, step up to the performance-oriented i4 M50 model, and you’ll get a dual-motor powertrain driving both the front and rear wheels.

The BMW i4 M50 is powered by a 255 horsepower electric motor in the front and a 308 horsepower motor in the rear. Both engines together deliver a combined maximum output of 536 hp and 586 lb-ft of torque.

However, you only get that much power when you select the Sport drive mode to engage the Sport Boost function of the M50; under normal circumstances, the M50 model delivers 469 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. The M50 accelerates from zero to 60 mph in a blistering 3.9 seconds.

Power and torque are transmitted to the respective drive axle via a one-speed transmission which sits in the same housing unit as the electric motor.

Braking and Driving Range: A Marvel on the Road

The 2022 BMW i4 offers a pair of regenerative braking settings, including a setting for one-pedal driving, which allows you to adjust the speed using just the throttle. Releasing the throttle pressure slows the vehicle, eliminating conventional use of the brake. There’s also another setting that changes regenerative settings based on navigation data or sensors. For instance, when another vehicle cuts into your lane, you can slow down your BMW by increasing regenerative braking.

The BMW i4 with rear-wheel-drive delivers an estimated full-charge range of 300 miles, thanks to its 81.5-kWh battery pack; the 2022 BMW i4 Performance features the same battery but is expected to offer around 240 miles of driving range.

Faster Charging, Convenient Travels

The Gran Coupe’s new generation of lithium-ion batteries offers DC fast-charging up to 200 kW and AC Level 2 charging up to 11 kW.

In addition, the i4 comes equipped with a Combined Charging Unit (CCU) that allows it to charge from zero to 100 percent in around 8 hours using a Level 2 charger. With a DC fast-charger, the i4 gets approximately 90 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

The 2022 BMW i4 is due in showrooms early next year.
