Working toward an electrified future.

Earth Day, which is observed on April 22nd this year, is a day in which the world recognizes the importance of preserving our world’s health and beauty for the years and generations to come. Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970, and has grown to include a wide array of events involving over 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.

Its goal is to spread awareness and drive a year of energy and commitment to create a new plan of action for our planet and its life. It empowers and recruits world climate leaders, grassroots activists, nonprofit innovators, industries, artists, musicians, influencers and the leaders of tomorrow to push us towards a safe and healthy world for all living things.

As a contributor to climate protection, the BMW brand pursues ambitious goals toward lowering CO2 emissions in order to make a positive impact. Renewable energy, innovative charging and electric vehicles are part of its plan, with a focus on transitioning to clean energy worldwide.

In the realm of vehicle models, BMW has made strong developments in the electrification of its models with its BMW i subdivision, designing and engineering some of the best fully-electric vehicles available, including their previous eye-catching BMW i8 supercar and current BMW i3. Additionally, they boast a generous range of hybrid models such as the BMW X3xDrive 30e, BMW X5 xDrive45e, BMW 330e Sedan, BMW 530e Sedan and the BMW 745e Sedan.

As of late 2020, the brand has also committed to purchasing only CO2-free energy plants, office buildings and research centers as they strive towards a zero-carbon-emission future.

By focusing on a comprehensive approach to their industry which includes everything from design, engineering, manufacturing and sale, the BMW brand hopes to make a strong impact in the fight against climate change by promoting and applying an Earth-conscious direction to promote green, clean energy consumption.

You, too can participate in the movement by joining EARTHDAY.ORG to learn how to take personal action in your own life to help end plastic pollution, fight climate change and protect our precious lands, air, water and wildlife.
